Ok, Here is what happened with I was test driving the car with the battery "depleted" (not fully) on a city street setting.:
I stop at a intersection, engine/generator shut of.
Lightly accelerated from the intersection, only hear? the no engine noise .
Gunned the accelerator, car took off and the engine/generator came on.
Let of the accelerator and apply brake pedal, engine still run and regen kicking in.
Stop at the next intersection, engine/generator turned off

Hybrid mode? There is no hybrid mode. And you don't switch back and forth on the volt. It's either one or the other. That is one of the main differences between? it and the prius.
I driven this car 3 ...
I driven this car 3 times and driven the latest pruis about 3 times and I could tell you. The pruis is not even in the same league as the volt, its like comparing a regular basketball player to a basketball? superstar. Fisker Karma is ...
Fisker Karma is actually a hybrid as? well. It even uses the gas engine to help power the wheels under heavy acceleration. Something that the Volt doesn't even do until speeds over 70mph. I agree, the Karma is very sexy. But it's heavier and gets worse MPG than the Volt. Oh, and costs over $100k.

They state 37mpg in gas mode, I've been in gas mode? two times, and both times it has gotten me 40mpg, not even trying. just fyi.
